It’s light sure, but not cheesy or boring. It’s set in a slightly political scenario, and revolves around much better topics than high school romance and gossip. The book talks about many issues like racism, bullying and targeting minorities, but from perspective of bunch of high schoolers, so instead of being heavy, it has successfully remained light hearted and hopeful, like teenagers usually are.

I was expecting so much from this book, that even with an engaging story it failed to meet my expectations. Throughout the book I kept wondering is the book worth the hype. It’s a wonderful story no doubt, it talks about things usually aren’t talked about, but in the end it’s a novel with drama and ups and downs. I simply couldn’t understand the hype.
